The best facilities
The concept of the International Bartending Course Level 1 is unique. It consists of 20% theory and 80% practical. There is a maximum of 12 students per course and every participant has their own bar station, allowing them to master all the tricks of the trade at their fully equipped modern workstation, complete with speedrail, icerail, draught beer, back bar and real products. All techniques are demonstrated by the trainers from behind the Academy Showbar, and the students can watch the trainers’ every movement thanks to the mirrored ceiling and glass bar. The Bols Bartending Academy also uses audio visual equipment to support the course. As well as general knowledge about spirits, cocktails and wine, extensive training is also given for coffee and beer.

An Internationally recognised qualification
The Bols Bartending Academy courses aim to provide a higher standard for future professional bartenders capable of generating a greater volume of sales. The Bols Bartending Academy offers professional all-round training which teaches students all about the seven basic skills of the bartending profession:

The International Bartending Level 1 course is the most important of all, it is an international course accredited by the SVH, the Institute for the Dutch Hospitality sector. After successful completion of this course the graduate becomes an ‘International Junior Bartender’. With this diploma he or she has the knowledge and skills to work in any professional bar, anywhere in the world. At the end of the course each student is awarded an International certificate, course book and a DVD of the practical exam which can be shown during an interview with a potential new employer. In addition the Bols Bartending Academy is recognised as a professional training institute by the Dutch Bartenders Club, ROC Eindhoven and the ROC Amsterdam.

Membership of the Bols Bartending Network
After successfully completing the course graduates automatically become members of the Bols Bartending Network. Employers can check at any time whether you have actually followed a course in the Bols Bartending Academy, and you can keep your profile, including your C.V. up to date. You will also be informed about the latest worldwide developments in the hospitality sector, and about the Master Classes organised at the Bols Bartending Academy.

Advantages for the Hospitality Business
Trained staff begin delivering cost savings in just a few weeks. During the four-day International Bartending Level 1 course the emphasis is placed on the fast and efficient preparation of drinks. This results in an increased turnover without the need to invest in extra staff. Also the bartender is more capable of selling products with a higher profit margin. All students are trained to be excellent all round bartenders, not just to make cocktails; they have more knowledge of different drinks, providing your customers with a better service.

Many bar managers may not be aware that training is 100% tax deductible for employers in The Netherlands. Offering your bar staff a training course can improve your working relationship and trust, reducing the turnover of staff and improving service, loyalty and customer satisfaction. Follow up courses can also be offered as a reward for high performing staff.
